Car Detailing Questions & Answers

Straight answers to the questions Spring drivers ask most about mobile detailing.

FAQ

Common questions

How much does mobile detailing cost in Spring?

It depends on the vehicle's size, its condition and the service. A wash and wax costs less than a full detail, and ceramic coating and paint correction are priced per car. Text us the vehicle and a few photos and we'll send a firm quote, usually the same day.

Do you really bring your own water and power?

Yes. Our van carries a water tank and its own power, so we can work in your driveway, at your office or in an apartment lot where it's allowed. You don't need to run a hose or an extension cord.

Do I need to be home?

No. As long as we can get into the car (keys left somewhere safe, or unlocked) we can work while you're at work or running errands. We'll text you photos when we're done.

How long does a detail take?

A wash and wax takes a couple of hours. A full detail takes a few hours, more for large SUVs or heavy pet hair. Paint correction and ceramic coating usually take most of a day.

Is it OK to wash in my HOA neighborhood?

Usually, yes. We use low-water methods and keep runoff contained, which is what most HOAs care about. If your HOA has specific rules, tell us and we'll work within them.

What if it rains?

We watch the forecast and will reschedule if rain would ruin the work. Interior work can often still go ahead, and coatings get done in a garage or covered spot.

Can you get out pet hair, stains and smells?

Most pet hair, food and drink stains and odors come out with the right tools, steam and shampoo. If something looks permanent, like dye or an old burn, we'll tell you before we start.

Can you get lovebugs and tree sap off without hurting the paint?

Yes. We soak them with the right cleaner so they lift off instead of being scrubbed. The sooner they come off, the less chance they etch the clear coat.

FAQ

Service questions

Can you get dog hair out?

Yes. We use rubber pet-hair brushes and a strong vacuum to pull it out of the carpet and seats. Heavy pet hair takes extra time, so mention it when you book.

Will my seats be wet afterward?

Cloth seats are damp after shampooing and usually dry in a few hours, faster with the windows cracked on a warm Houston day.

How long does wax last in Houston heat?

A good wax lasts about one to three months here, a paint sealant longer. If you want protection that lasts years, ask about ceramic coating.

Is a hand wash really better than a car wash?

Yes. Drive-through brushes and dirty rags drag grit across the paint and cause swirl marks. A careful hand wash keeps the paint looking new.

How long does a full detail take?

Most sedans take a few hours. Larger SUVs, minivans and cars with heavy pet hair or stains take longer. We'll give you a time estimate with your quote.

Do I need to be there the whole time?

No. Just leave the car unlocked or hand us the keys. Many customers book us at the office and keep working.

How long does a ceramic coating last?

It depends on the coating and how the car is cared for. Most last years, not months. We'll explain the options and what upkeep each one needs before you choose.

Does ceramic coating stop scratches and rock chips?

No coating makes paint scratch-proof. It resists light marks and makes the paint easier to keep clean, but it isn't armor against rock chips. We'll be straight with you about what it does.

Can you remove all scratches?

Light swirls and surface scratches usually polish out. Deep scratches that catch your fingernail have gone through the clear coat and need paint work. We'll tell you which is which before we start.

How long does paint correction take?

Usually most of a day, sometimes longer, depending on the car's size and condition.

Do you work on boats and RVs at storage lots?

Often, yes, as long as the lot allows washing. We bring our own water and power and can work with you to check the rules.

Can you clean our trucks after hours?

Yes. Early mornings, evenings and weekends work well for fleets so your vehicles stay on the job during the day.
